 Caring for our Wildlife

OG&E is committed to helping wildlife flourish. We have several initiatives working with the US Fish and Wildlife Services to preserve local wildlife.

  • Bald Eagle Nest – OGE Energy Corp. teamed with the U.S. Fish And Wildlife Services and the Sutton Avian Research Center to install an artificial nest for a pair of American Bald Eagles.  The goal was to help retain the most prolific pair of eagles in Oklahoma at OG&E’s Sooner Generating Station near Red Rock, Oklahoma.  During the breeding season you can watch the eagles’ eggs hatch via a small video camera focusing on the nest.

  • Peregrine Falcons – OGE Energy Corp. has released several sets of falcons near the Sooner Generation Station.  At one time the peregrine falcon was an endangered species, but thanks to the efforts of utilities in the east and central United States, falcons have been removed from the endangered species list.  OGE hopes to establish a falcon population in Oklahoma.
