Helping the Teachers

We are pleased to help schools and teachers in the community. The following programs showcase our efforts to support energy education:

Teacher Grant Program: OGE Energy Corp. awards teacher grants up to $1,000, and they are available to teachers at public schools in OG&E and Enogex service territories in Oklahoma and Western Arkansas.  Any creative project, which deals with reading, mathematics or science, will be considered. Information about teacher grants is provided during the last semester of the school year. For more information, e-mail OGECOMMUNITYRELATIONSTEAM@OGE.COM.

LivingWise® for Kids Program: LivingWise® is our custom designed energy curriculum for 5th graders in Oklahoma and 6th graders in Arkansas (school district must be served by OG&E). The hands-on LivingWise program is designed to educate science students about energy conservation and efficiency as well as encourage their families to make energy improvements at home. This program is offered at NO COST to qualified teachers, schools and school districts.
 
The program includes teacher education materials such as lesson plans, activity books and suggested activities to use inside and outside the classroom. Each teacher and student will receive a student guide, workbook and Energy Savings Kit that includes the following products to help students implement classroom lessons at home: 
  • Oxygenics® Showerhead
  • Kitchen Aerator
  • Limelite® Night Light
  • Flow Rate Test Bag
  • Energy Cost Calculator
  • FilterTone® Alarm
  • High-Efficiency Light Bulb
  • Water Temperature Card

4th Grade Electrical Safety Program: Our 4th Grade Electrical Safety Program is a custom designed energy curriculum to educate students about electrical safety and help them encourage their families to follow helpful safety tips at home. To schedule this program for 4th grade contact OGECOMMUNITYRELATIONSTEAM@OGE.COM.

Interactive School Site: This site provides information to help schools save energy and reduce costs. Among its many features, school facilities managers can post a variety of information and tips that are shared with others schools. Learn more.
